屬靈操練系列二: 禁食的操練 Fasting (Matthew 4:1-4, John 6:48-51)

前言:聖經中記載了許多人禁食:舊約中有大衛王(撒下12:16;詩35:13,69:10,109:24),巴比倫國總長但以理(但9:3),文士以斯拉(拉8:21, 23),猶大省長尼希米(尼1:4),波斯皇后以斯帖(斯4:16);新約中則有主耶穌基督(太4:2),女先知亞拿(路2:37),使徒保羅(徒9:9)。今天,讓我們從聖經來看:

結論:禁食這項屬靈操練,要麼被信徒忽略,要麼又被律法式地執行,然而若能以純正的動機,加以正確地操練,我們必能收穫頗豐。

Matthew 4:1-4

4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” But he answered, “It is written,

“‘Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

John 6:48-51

48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. 50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” (ESV)
