Jon Christian English School is a Christian School in Huishu Village in the state of Manipur, India. It was founded in 2005 by Jonathan Zingkhai. It addresses the problem of poor education in this remote area of India. Huishu is located in the mountains of northeast India, where transportation is difficult and there is little electricity. They have a government school, but the teachers do not show up to class and in fact live in the larger town, called Ukhrul, that is away from the village. Jon Christian English School educates around 40 kids from grades K-5th grade. The vision is to raise up godly doctors, engineers, teachers, leaders, skilled workers that will lead this community in the future.
