I can’t believe that it has almost been a year in Taiwan.  My experience has gone through many ups and downs.

For the past two months, the situation at Aroma has been fairly stable.  Since February, construction has started on the new building.  Now, we are expecting to move in May.  Then we will be able to focus more on developing the educational aspects of our ministry.  Currently, we are partnering with a team that has education experience.  Our first joint project is a week-long English summer camp.  Hopefully, we will be able to work on more educational programs together.  In the coming months, there will need to be a bigger shift towards focusing on education.

God has still been using Coffee Talk (our weekly Friday conversation event) to bring new faces to Aroma.  The new participants have been really engaging in the discussions.  Moreover, the discussions lead the participants to ask bigger philosophical questions.  As a result, they have started to ask gospel-related questions and have even visited our Sunday services.  We can see the Holy Spirit working in the minds and hearts of these young adults.

Now that I have been here for about a year, I am really trying to understand how God will use me in the long term.  While this season has been fruitful, I am left wondering about the future.  I have been exposed to so many different things.  Yet, I cannot identify where God is specifically leading me.  It has been difficult living by faith through it all.  I don’t think I have been personally connecting with how our ministry works.  I am afraid of becoming disappointed or jaded with things here.  With my former career in mind, I do not want to make the same mistakes as before.  Eventually, I want to be confident where God has put me.

Please pray for:

-My future:  I am halfway through my time in Taiwan, and I am still not sure where God will be leading me afterwards

-Aroma: The staff are few, and the future of the ministry depends on them.  Pray that we will be able to adapt to new directions

-Education center:  It still seems like a big challenge.  During the next few weeks, we will have to really focus on developing and executing a plan
